豐隆金融首9個月淨利揚30%

（吉隆坡）豐隆金融（HLFG，1082；主板金融組）截至2008年3月31日為止首9個月的淨利為4億423萬3000令吉。比前期的3億1146萬5000令吉，增加29.78%。
該公司營業額為16億6455萬5000令吉，比前期的14億3510萬3000令吉，增加15.98%。
該公司建議派發每股14仙的股息。

Credit Suisse keeps Hong Leong Financial (1082.KU) at Outperform with MYR7.80 target price after 9M FY08 net profit came in +30% on-year at MYR404 million, marking 74% of house's FY08 net profit estimate. "Given that the bulk of life insurance profit is booked in the 4Q, the performance so far is ahead of our expectations." Notes earnings growth mainly spurred by Hong Leong Bank's (5819.KU) profit growth as earnings for securities, insurance operations trended down on weaker capital market conditions. Says share attractively valued, trading at 9X FY08 P/E, marking 32% discount to HLB's 13.6X; "If we mark-to-market the value of HLFG's listed subsidiaries (bank and securities), the stock trades at a 35% discount to RNAV, well above the average historic discount of 9%." Says believes HLFG, currently 79% owned by Tan Sri Quek Leng Chan, is attractive candidate to be taken private. HLFG up 1.7% at MYR4.90. |

Hong Leong Moves Closer To Having Investment Bank
KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 (Bernama) -- Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd (HLFG) has obtained approvals from the Finance Ministry and the Securities Commission (SC) for its proposed acquisition of certain assets and liabilities of Southern Investment Bank Bhd and the entire equity interest in SBB Securities Sdn Bhd. The development moved it closer to having an investment bank in its stable of companies, thus completing the transformation of the group into a full financial services group. In a statement, HLFG said the Finance Ministry, via a joint letter from Bank Negara Malaysia and the SC granted approvals for investment bank status to HLG Credit Sdn Bhd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of HLG Capital Bhd which in turn is a subsidiary of HLFG) to be renamed Hong Leong Investment Bank Bhd subject to several regulatory requirements. "These acquisitions will go towards completing the circle for us, thereby further strengthening our position in the industry," said HLFG president and chief executive officer Raymond Choong. Once all conditions are met and an investment banking status is granted, the group will be able to offer a full spectrum of products and services, among which are equity capital market, corporate finance, and investment solutions to meet the needs of clients, Choong said.
