吉隆坡）豐隆保險（Hong Leong Assurance）因拖欠Hytex敳達製衣廠3000萬令吉的火患保險賠償金長達2年，遭制衣廠入稟法庭追討賠償金。
吉隆坡高庭於11月26日，對豐隆保險做出缺席判決（judgment in default）。製衣廠較後委托Othman Hashim & Co律師樓執行查封與變賣令（Writ of Seizure & sales），今日（週三，12月24日）在法庭職員陪同下，到豐隆保險總部點算財產，並限令在14天內繳付保費。
2名法庭職員是在Othman Hashim&Co數名律師陪同下，於週三下午12時抵達豐隆保險總部大廈，遞交缺庭判決、查封與變賣令。
位於甲洞的hytex制衣廠是在2年前發生火患。
敳達製衣廠發言人指出，律師樓與法庭職員已於下午3時完成對豐隆保險的財產清算，這間公司也同時向大馬交易所（Bursa）匯報上述查封行動。
敳達製衣廠是一家製造國際運動品牌，如Nike與Purma的製衣廠。
至截稿時，豐隆保險還未對此事發表任何談話。 |

Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd (HLFG) (1082) is planning to sell a stake in its insurance arm, Hong Leong Assurance Bhd (HLA), industry sources said.
Most observers believe the plan is to partner HLA with a well capitalised foreign company. This will help HLA grow further while giving it space to focus on its new greenfield takaful operations.
They noted that there has been a quiet buzz about HLA's plans since late last year.
However, this has been kept well under the wraps.
"They seem to be tight-lipped about details of the plan," an industry source said.
Another foreign-based insurance executive said HLA may have already chosen its strategic partner and is now left with the matter of pricing.
A likely partner would be Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co Ltd. HLA already has a joint-venture takaful company called Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful Bhd since 2005.
General insurer Tokio Marine also owns TM Asia Life Malaysia Bhd, the first Japanese-owned life insurance company in Malaysia, following the acquisition of Asia General Holdings.
"Buying HLA allows a consolidation of HLA, TM Asia Life and Tokio Marine to create a top five composite insurer," said an industry observer.
If benchmarked against the recent proposed acquisition in the insurance industry, HLA will not come cheap.
Recently, AmG Insurance proposed to buy the general insurance business of Malaysian Assurance Alliance Bhd (MAA) for RM274.8 million or at a price-to-book value of 2.6 times.
MAA's valuation was considered pricey, especially for a company with a bleeding balance sheet.
HLA's market share in terms of annualised premiums currently stands at 6.3 per cent for life and 4.4 per cent for general insurance, ranking it in sixth and seventh places in the overall industry respectively.
HLA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of HLFG, the financial services arm of Hong Leong Group Malaysia.
For the financial year ended June 30 2008, HLA's net profit fell by 14 per cent to RM78.9 million due to lower investment income. |

傳豐隆金融擬售豐隆保險股權給外資

觀察家認為，上述脫售主要是豐隆保險有意與一家資金充裕的外資公司達成夥伴關係，以協助此公司進一步成長，同時可把焦點鎖定在新的回教保險業務。
自去年杪以來，豐隆保險脫售股權的計劃已在市場傳開，惟詳情仍欠奉。
另一外資保險執行員透露，豐隆保險或已選好其策略夥伴，目前剩下價格的問題。
最大可能的伙伴是東京海上日動火災保險株式會社（TOKIO MARINE & NICHIDO FIRE INSURANCE CO LTD），豐隆保險自2005年以來已設立一家聯營公司，稱豐隆東京海事回教保險（HONG LEONG TOKIO MARINE TAKAFUL BHD）。
