不只是四大天王,现在是24家旅行社,他们还玩大的,自己埋堆组织一个团体来和Natas抗衡
SINGAPORE – The travel agencies pulling out of the upcoming National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (Natas) fair said their decision was not an easy one, but it was “worthy in pursuit of a right cause”. Their fair will have lower booth costs for exhibitors with savings of up to 30 per cent, and its central location and free admission would mean more benefits for consumers, they added. Some 24 travel agencies have formed a strategic partnership and working committee to organise a travel fair on the 27 to 29 March - the same dates Natas will be held as well.
They include the Big Four–Chan Brothers Travel, CTC Travel, Dynasty Travel and SA Tours–as well as Nam Ho Travel, Farmosa Holidays, MISA Travel, Apple Holidays and New Shan Travel. The group said this move was not meant to challenge Natas, adding that they would be happy to discuss with the association on participating with their travel fair again if it addresses their concerns. Their issues, which were raised in a petition to Natas in October this year, included requesting for a reduction in the rental of booths and the lowering of admission fees for the public, disallowing overseas operators brought in by tourism boards to conduct sales, greater transparency, and setting up a travel fair organizing committee comprising the outbound agencies. Unfortunately, a reply from NATAS which came a month later had not addressed their issues, they said. Their fair will be held at Marina Bay Sands level B2 at Exhibition Halls D, E and F and will span 17,000 square metres, about 70 per cent the size of Natas’ fair.
