The new Swift Sport has the same DNA as its predecessor, but reflects nevertheless the concept of developing a refined, sporty and compact car, taken from the new Swift that Suzuki Malaysia Automobile launched in January 2013 .

Using Suzuki's flagship as a starting point in the design was not difficult getting a Swift with sporty driving characteristics, just as much focus on the environment and as much attention to quality.

Color Line-up

The new Swift Sport's exterior design reflects an evolution toward an aggressive and dignified look, a ground-hugging form that gives a sense of stability and tension. The front of the car is dominated by standard-fit bi-xenon headlamps with dark backgrounds, aggressive fog lamps and a large grille that evokes high performance. From the side, flanked by under spoiler helps to give the car a low visual center of gravity and the sport compact are completed with 16” alloy wheels. Added with exclusive rear spoiler that controls airflow, suppress lift together with the striking dual stainless-steel exhaust gives the car a more sporting, aggressive character.

The new Swift Sport has an overall length of 3,890mm, an overall width of 1,695mm, an overall height of 1,510mm, and a wheelbase of 2,430mm. The platform is made longer and slightly wider with its wheelbase extended by 50mm.

Five sporty, high-eligibility meters keep you informed plus the metallic rings around the meter cluster surrounds the multi-information display gives a premium look. The tilt-and telescope-adjustable steering wheel is covered with soft leather for a natural grip with red stitching completes the look. Backlit switches for functions such as audio and cruise control, and it carries shift paddles if the owner has chosen the available continuously variable transmission (CVT). New seat fabric with the exclusive red “Sport” logo complements the larger and more supportive front and back sports seat design, offering body hugging cushions for extra support and comfort. There is plenty of room for rear seat passengers, a 60:40 split folding rear seatback offers luggage-carrying flexibility, and there are plenty of handy storage spaces.

Suzuki pursued higher levels of chassis performance, thereby offers superior cornering stability, better driving response through a system of stabilizers front shocks and unique design of the rear suspension. An added steering-gearbox member, an added suspension-frame member, and larger front wheel bearings boost yaw response, and the handling has evolved from that of the previous Swift Sport . Uprated suspension with Monrea ® shock absorbers provide confidence-inspiring, sure-footed handling at all speeds, with a satisfyingly quick response to every turn of the wheel. Built-in rebound springs on the front suspension struts keep roll angles impressively low without compromising ride comfort.

The impressive new M16A engine has been developed to meet the conflicting demands of both increased power and improved environmental performance. By introducing a variable intake system and enhanced VVT system, air intake is optimally controlled to suit driving conditions, with higher cylinder charging and intake and exhaust efficiency that resulted to maximum output from 92kW from the previous Swift Sport to 100kW and maximum torque is up to 148Nm to 160Nm.

The specially designed six-speed manual transmission uses the new engine's higher output to full advantage. The greater number of gears allow for better acceleration, while a higher top-gear ratio improves fuel economy. The new CVT auto system, with a low and high range auxiliary gearbox, allows a wide range of gear ratios, which promotes acceleration and fuel economy. The system utilizes a shift paddle design with seven-gear manual mode to enable the choice of an exciting sporty drive or more relaxed drive. By closely coordinating with the engine, the CVT system promote shift response with respect to the accelerator pedal and shift paddles for a sportier feeling while accelerating.

The body of new Swift Sport is based on Suzuki's Total Effective Control Technology (TECH) which resists impact forces and directs it away from the driver and passenger. There are six airbags, including side and curtain airbags, and the pillars incorporate shock-absorbing materials that soften any contact with occupants' heads . The new Swift Sport has an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) that helps maintain greater stability and controllability on diverse road surfaces. A higher level of active safety is added with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) which prevents the wheel from locking during heavy braking and helps maintain vehicle control. The safety features are completed with Electronic Brake-force Distribution that regulates front and rear brake pressures to ensure maximum braking efficiency and Brake assist which increases brake pressure during emergency braking to minimize stopping distance.
