Malaysian Documentaries

Curated and hosted by Amir Muhammad

Monday, 25 October 2004.
8: 30 pm.
Institut HELP auditorium.
Admission: FREE.
Further info: kancah2001@yahoo.com

The latest edition of "Malaysian Documentaries" was chosen from a total of
16 entries. Out of the six
selected, half are by debut directors, and half don't even take place in
Malaysia. They were selected on the ability to entertain and push boundaries
rather than just impart information.

The political and personal will get equal play. Quirky and self-reflexive,
this compilation finds young
Malaysians being very curious about the things around them . or just being
very curious themselves.

Q&A with the directors will follow after the screenings. And VCDs of
independent Malaysian features
and shorts will be sold at the lobby. Ayuh, kengkawan!

banners and billboards in our urban sightlines. What
does it mean? What is it selling? Why? Who did it? 18?

behind the graffiti. Make sure to stay for the
surprise ending of this rambunctious, crowd-pleasing
debut.

Gertjan Zuilhof

Gertjan Zuilhof

《The Big Durian》導演:Amir Muhammad

U-Wei Hajisaari

Yasmin Ahmad
