REQUEST FOR VOLUNTARY SUSPENSION

The Company has today made a request to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Securities”) for a suspension of trading of its securities from 11.10 a.m. on 7 October 2010 to 5.00 p.m. on 7 October 2010 (Malaysian time), pending a material announcement.

The request for suspension to Bursa Securities was made pursuant to subparagraph 3.1( c) of Practice Note No. 2 on Requests for Suspension of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Securities.

This announcement is dated 7 October 2010.

The Company wishes to announce that it has received a letter from the Securities Commission (“SC”) on 6 October 2010 pertaining to the above matter.
The letter therein mentioned that the SC has reviewed the transactions relating to MGB’s investment in the IPP project. Pursuant to this, the SC had on 12 August 2010 asked for a S320 report under the Capital Markets & Services Act 2007 from the auditors of MGB, Ernst & Young, whose report was dated 9 September 2010.

The SC has also reviewed all disclosures made by MGB with respect to transactions related to the aforesaid project and had found that the disclosure made prior to 30 August 2010 by MGB pertaining to the IPP project were inadequate. As such, in order to enable the investing public and the market to make informed decisions, the SC had required Bursa Malaysia (“Bursa”) to direct MGB to make additional disclosures on specific areas. These additional disclosures were made by MGB on 30 August 2010.

The SC has cautioned and reminded MGB and its Board of Directors to ensure continuous compliance with Bursa’s disclosure requirements and to maintain the requisite standards in fulfilling its disclosure obligations. The SC expects the boards and senior management of public listed companies to observe high standards of corporate governance in discharging their duties and responsibilities.

The SC will not hesitate to take appropriate action against MGB and its directors if MGB and its directors are found to have breached any provisions of the securities laws or Bursa’s disclosure requirements in future.

KUALA LUMPUR: Mudajaya Group Bhd plans to team up with the Laos government to undertake a hydroelectric power project there.

The company said on Thursday, Oct 7 it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Laos government to develop a 60 MW hydro power project.

The project company is targetted to be jointly held by the developer and the Laos government on a 75:25 equity basis.

SC raps Mudajaya for inadequate disclosures

The SC, in a press release, said it viewed “seriously” the builder’s failure to provide adequate information on the IPP prior to August 30 this year and cautioned that it must ensure compliance in future.

The regulator had looked into Mudajaya’s (5085) affairs some months ago after receiving an anonymous complaint about the builder’s investment in the Indian project.

It had required Mudajaya’s auditor, Ernst & Young, to come up with a report on the project, which the latter did. The report was dated September 9 this year.

The SC said it had reviewed the transactions relating to Mudajaya’s investment in the IPP, in particular the transfer of funds between related entities.

“Ernst & Young’s S320 report had also revealed movement of funds between Mudajaya and related entities ... that is characteristic of the practice known as “round-tripping”. “The practice of round tripping has been raised as a concern in several jurisdictions.  In this regard, the SC will conduct a separate exercise to review the use and disclosures associated with the “round-tripping” practice,” it said.

An SC spokesperson clarified that it is studying the practice of round-tripping in general, not specifically Mudajaya. A quick Internet search on the term “round-tripping” revealed that it is a creative practice that is intended to wrongly inflate revenues.

   你对Mudajaya的看法如何？  你知道究竟是怎么一回事吗？  还以为可以回升RM5.00++...  SC 已经发了警告/提醒信，应该算是了结了这次的调查，为何SC和Mudajaya不给予清楚一点的报道?  所为“下不为例”应该就是说这次就酱紫算了，再有下次就“无得倾”。

Mudajaya Group Bhd, a Malaysian builder, rose 2.1 per cent in Kuala Lumpur trading after OSK Research Sdn Bhd raised its share price forecast to RM7.22 from RM6 in a report today.

The stock climbed to RM4.48 at 9:11 am local time. The company signed an agreement to help develop a hydroelectric plant in Laos on October 8. -- Bloomberg

吉隆坡：MUDAJAYA集团补阳[]净利润增长从RM35.32万截至2010年9月30日的第三季度31.8％，至RM46.55万年前，由于微星提高活动的水平。




它说，在星期二，11月23日从RM200.1万元收入下降4.5％至RM191.15万元。每股盈利为11:37仙，而每股净资产为RM1.63。




截至9月30日的9个月，Mudajaya的净利润翻了一番，达到RM151.36万RM75.84万元。收入增长25.7％，至RM639.14 RM508.21万美元。 Mudajaya表示，该集团对2010年的财务业绩预期将改善，从一年前。
