The Board wishes to inform that the insurer, AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad, has offered and the Board has accepted a Claim Settlement Offer for Fire Damage to Building, Machinery and Stocks upon the Adjuster’s Adjustment Schedule amounting to RM159,367,366.43 under the Material Damage Section as full and final settlement to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Notion Venture Sdn Bhd (“NVSB”). As of to-date, NVSB has received a cumulative amount of RM80,000,000.00 from the insurer being partial settlement for the material fire loss. The balance net settlement of RM79,367,366.43 will be paid at a subsequent date. The settlement could be deployed for recovery of the production facilities affected by the fire incident and NVB will still retain its rights to any recovery from insurance proceeds for business interruption arising from the fire incident. The Board will make further announcement whenever there is new development as well as any significant financial impact on the Material Damage claim and Business Interruption Claim. The Board wishes to inform that the insurer, AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad, had made a payment of RM35,000,000.00 to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Notion Venture Sdn Bhd (“NVSB”), being partial settlement of the Claim Settlement Offer for Fire Damage to Building, Machinery and Stocks upon the Adjuster’s Adjustment Schedule under the Material Damage Section amounting to RM159,367,366.43. As of to-date, NVSB has received a cumulative amount of RM115,000,000.00 from the insurer being partial settlement for the material fire loss. The balance net settlement of RM44,367,366.43 is expected to be paid at a subsequent date. The partial settlement will be deployed for rebuilding of the main manufacturing plant in Klang, Selangor, at Lot 6123, Jalan Haji Salleh as a two storey building, which is expected to be ready and operational by the First Quarter of 2019. NVB will still retain its rights to any recovery from insurance proceeds for business interruption arising from the fire incident. The Board will make further announcements whenever there is new development as well as any significant financial impact on the Material Damage claim and Business Interruption Claim. （吉隆坡12日讯）精密零件制造商Notion VTec Bhd从保险公司AXA Affin General Insurance Bhd收到4437万令吉，为雪兰莪巴生的主要工厂发生火患所提出的1亿5937万令吉的最后一笔赔偿金。

该集团今日向大马交易所报备，独资子公司Notion Venture私人有限公司于上周五（9日）收到这笔款项。

“若有新进展，以及对业务中断索赔有任何实质财务影响，董事部将作出进一步公布。”

去年10月20日，Notion Vtec公布，巴生主厂发生火灾，并影响所有子公司，即Kaiten Precision、Notion Venture和Autic Mekki私人有限公司。

Description	Notion VTec Berhad ("NVB" or "the Company") - New Business Activities in the Healthcare Industry
In light of the outbreak of the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and the heightening awareness and demand for the Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”) and medical ventilators in the healthcare industry, the Board of Directors (“Board”) wishes to announce that NVB has decided to venture into the production including sales and marketing of PPE as well as involve in the production of components related to the medical ventilators in addition to the Company’s core business of supply high quality and precision-machined component (hereinafter referred to as “New Business”). The production of the PPE will be in accordance with the International Organisation for Standardization and the Company is in the midst of applying the approval from all the relevant authorities for the production of the PPE. The Company has placed order for the production machineries. Subject to the approval being obtained from all the relevant authorities, the production is expected to be commenced by end of May 2020 in the Company’s main factory. The products will then be sold in local markets. Subject to the approval being obtained from all the relevant authorities, the New Business is expected to have a positive impact on the earnings and net asset per share of the Group for the financial year ending 30 September 2020. As the New Business will be funded through internally generated funds, hence, it is not expected to have any material impact on the gearing of the Group. The Board is of the view that the New Business is a social responsibility of the Company to join the battle against Covid-19 outbreak by addressing the shortage of the medical equipment needs in the healthcare industry. The risks related to the New Business includes execution risks. Nonetheless, NVB Group has, throughout the years established its track record and expertise in undertaking high quality and precision-machined components and other related products. As such, the Board believes that NVB is able to mitigate the risk. The Company will also continue its focus on its core business of supplying high quality and precision-machined component. The Board will make further announcement whenever there is new development on the above business activities. This announcement is dated 9 April 2020.
