The Company wishes to clarify how the subject acquisition will enable TAFI to take part in key growth markets in the property development activities in the region as stated in item 5 of its announcement dated 3 June 2013.
The two (2) pieces of vacant commercial freehold land acquired by TAFI are located in the District of Kluang, Johor. The southern region of Malaysia particularly Johor is booming spurred by the Iskandar Development Region and its economic activities. Property prices in Johor are going up and major changes are seen in towns such as Kluang and Yong Peng, the nearest towns adjacent to Paloh where the two pieces of vacant commercial freehold land are situated.
If there are good opportunities and if the timing is right, the Company intends to expand into property development as a strategy to diversify the Company’s earnings base.

(吉隆坡12日讯)同安家具(TAFI,7211,主板消费产品股)独资子公司———T.A.家具工业私人有限公司,以现金762万令吉,脱售位于雪州乌鲁冷月的1间1层半厂房。
根据文告,T.A.家具工业是将该占地1.0117公顷的厂房,卖给Can Cable私人有限公司。
T.A.家具工业脱售上述厂房,是因为同安家具集团已经把厂房迁往柔佛麻坡,不再使用上述厂房。
对于脱售厂房所得资金,该公司将用来充当营运资本。【南洋网财经】

应付国际买家需求 同安1400万建厂买机械

(麻坡26日讯)同安家具(TAFI,7211,主版消费产品)耗资逾1400万令吉增建厂房及增购先进机械与器材,以应付国际买家大量采购的需求。
公司执行主席拿督苏永源今日在股东大会后向媒体表示,目前已接洽到一国际买家订购该公司生产家居家具,包括卧房与客厅系列。
“有关洽谈已进入尾声,预料将在未来几个月签署采购合约,明年1月正式供应。”
他说,同安家具已在柔勒工业区兴建一座新厂房及增购先进机械。
这项提升产能的计划耗资约1400万令吉,包括建厂及增加机械外,以及提升现有厂房的机械,加强生产率,以全面应付国内外买家在质与量方面的需求。”
同安家具于2012年面对160万令吉亏损,因此去年经过一番开源节流举措,包括减少人员、提高生产率及调整与选择市场需求后,带动公司2013年的业绩转亏为盈,税前盈利为22万7000令吉。
他说,该公司之前脱售位于士毛月的产业后,目的是要把业务集中在麻坡,以提高运作与营理效率。
联营建公寓计划
提及公司与地主联营建公寓计划,苏永源指出,一名地主已答应发展柔州境内一市中心4亩地段,兴建公寓与独立式洋房,有关洽谈已晋入比率分配最后阶段,同时也得到一建筑公司的合作。
他补充,一旦定案后,将会发布消息,让股东了解公司这项业务的详情。
