Type | Announcement | Subject | OTHERS | Description | AEON CREDIT SERVICE (M) BERHAD ("THE COMPANY" OR "AEON CREDIT") - MONEY LENDING LICENCE | The Board of Directors of AEON Credit is pleased to announce that the Company had on 14 January 2019 received the approved letter dated 11 January 2019 from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (“the Ministry”) granting AEON Credit a Money Lending Licence (the “Licence”) under the Moneylenders Act 1951 [Act 400] and Moneylenders (Control and Licensing) Regulations 2003.
The Licence shall be valid for a period of two (2) years effective from the date of this announcement, i.e. 15 January 2019.
The approval allows AEON Credit to undertake any business of those relating to the money lending activities which complements its existing business.
This announcement is dated 15 January 2019.

Type | Announcement | Subject | OTHERS | Description | AEON CREDIT SERVICE (M) BERHAD ("THE COMPANY") - NOTICES OF ASSESSMENT RAISED ON THE COMPANY | The Company wishes to announce that on 9 July 2019, the Company received a Writ of Summons together with a Statement of Claim filed by the Government of Malaysia in respect of the taxes which are purportedly due for the years of assessment 2010 to 2016.
The matter has been fixed for case management at the High Court on 23 July 2019. Upon consulting its tax solicitors, the Company maintains its stance that there is a good basis in law to challenge the validity of the taxes and penalties demanded by the Director General of Inland Revenue (“DGIR”) and also the civil proceedings commenced against the Company. This is especially when at all material times, the Company had sought professional advice from an independent and reputable firm of tax consultants on its tax treatment and that the notices of additional assessment for the years of assessment 2010 and 2011 are time barred.
The Company will make further announcement(s) as and when there is a material update on the above said matter.
This announcement is dated 9 July 2019.
