Sembawang Shipyard, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine, said it has secured the upgrading of 115,875 grt passenger ship Diamond Princess from Princess Cruises, USA.

Based in Santa Clarita, Princess Cruises is one of the leading brands within Carnival Corporation, a global cruise company and one of the largest vacation companies in the world.

The Diamond Princess is scheduled to enter Sembawang Shipyard on 12 March 2014.

The above contract is not expected to have any material impact on the earnings per share and net tangible assets per share of SembMarine for the year ending December 31, 2013.

Singapore's Sembcorp Marine said on Tuesday its net profit for the third quarter of the year grew 12.3% to $130 million due in part to foreign exchange gain.

Sembcorp Marine and its crosstown rival Keppel Corporation are the world's largest offshore drilling rig builders, but both have come under pressure in recent years from yards in China and South Korea.

Sembcorp Marine, in a statement, said its order book stood at $13.5 billion at the end of the July-September quarter, up from $12.7 billion at the close of the previous quarter.

Demand for high specification and ultra-deepwater rigs with advanced technical features is likely to remain high, and long-term industry fundamentals are supported by exploration activity in harsh environments and by field development programmes, the company said.

Marine and offshore engineering company Sembcorp Marine dipped to a two-month low on concerns over weak operating margins, while the Singapore benchmark index was flat.

Sembcorp Marine shares fell as much as 3.3% to $4.35, after reporting disappointing operating margin for the third quarter despite a 12% increase in net profit.

Operating profit margins for the quarter dropped 4%age points to 10.1% from a year earlier, while $0.4 billion in orders were added to its total order wins of $3.9 billion for the year to date.

“We are concerned that SMM’s margins will be under further pressure in the coming quarters and years,” said analysts at Religare Capital Markets Ltd in a note.

Religare said stiffened competition from Chinese yards, rising costs in Brazil and an expected hike in rig equipment prices will weigh on the company’s margins.

Religare has a “sell” rating and a target price of $3.75 on Sembcorp shares. However, Sembcorp Marine’s strong balance sheet and order book give the company a chance to gradually shift away from traditional rig building where Chinese yards are aggressively snatching up market shares, Religare said.

Sembcorp Marine said its subsidiary Jurong Shipyard has won two contracts for US$540 million ($684 million) each to build two drillships from a subsidiary of Transocean, with options for three additional units.

Scheduled for delivery in 2Q 2017 and 1Q 2018, the drillships will be built based on Jurong Shipyard's proprietary Jurong Espadon III design.

Designed for advanced drilling operations, the drillships are equipped with drilling features, a large moon pool to cater for a larger riser angle and bilge boxes designed for better motion characteristics.

The drillships also feature larger deck space with enclosed riser bay and round mud pits inside the hull for better operational efficiency and safety. Equipped with DP-3 (Dynamic Positioning Class 3) capabilities, the drillships will be capable of operating at 12,000 ft water depth and drilling to depths of 40,000 ft. Each drillship also has accommodation facilities for a crew of 220 personnel.

Transocean currently owns and operates six drilling rigs built by Sembcorp Marine's yards, including three jack-ups and one semi-submersible delivered by PPL Shipyard and two semi-submersibles built by Jurong Shipyard.

The contracts are not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of Sembcorp Marine for the year ending December 31, 2014.

Sembcorp Marine’s wholly-owned subsidiary Sembawang Shipyard has won an agreement with RCL Cruises, a member of the Royal Caribbean Cruises group, to perform the extensive revitalisation of Royal Caribbean International’s 137,276-gross tonnage, passenger-ship Voyager of the Seas.

Sembawang Shipyard has successfully performed the revitalisation of Royal Caribbean International’s Rhapsody of the Seas in 2012 and the Legend of the Seas in 2013.

Voyager of the Seas is the largest cruise ship homeporting in Asia. It sails out from Sydney for the winter and spring seasons, and in North Asia for summer and autumn.

The cruise ship is scheduled to enter the shipyard in 4th Quarter 2014.

Sembcorp Marine reported a 3% increase in earnings to $122 million in 1Q 2014 ended March from $119 million a year ago, despite a challenging operating environment. Earnings per share rose 3% to 5.87 cents.

Group turnover for the first quarter registered a 27% increase to $1.34 billion compared with $1.05 billion a year ago. The increase came mainly from higher revenue recognition from rig building activities and offshore platform projects.

Group EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax and depreciation) increased by 5% year-on-year to $176 million, while operating profit increased by 4% from $143 million in 1Q 2013 to $149 million in 1Q 2014.

This was despite a 28% decline in other operating income to $12.4 million from $17.3 million. At pre-tax level, group profit of $156 million was 5% higher than the $149 million achieved in the first quarter of last year.

This was supported by higher income from associates and joint ventures which grew 15% to $7.1 million from $6.2 million previously.

（新加坡20日讯）胜科海事（Sembcorp Marine）宣布，子公司Sembmarine SLP与裕廊船厂（Jurong Shipyard）获得总值2亿2200万新元（约5亿7051万令吉）的海上能源合同。

Sembmarine SLP将负责设计和建造英国诺福克海岸外的德贞岸外风电场（Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm）平台。

裕廊船厂则将负责维修和改造一艘超级油轮，让它成为西非加纳一项油气藏集体发展计划下的浮式生产储油船（FPSO）。

受油价下跌影响，胜科海事市值年初迄今缩水约17亿新元（约43亿6875万令吉）。

公司最近宣布其第一艘钻油船将会按原定计划建成，尽管工程延迟了约6个月。

公司的估值偏低、获益率达到4%及毛利下跌的幅度受限是目前值得进场的主要原因。


分析师对胜科海事的最新评级

胜科海事(Sembcorp Marine)的股价在过去52周下跌了大约16%，大部分的跌幅是在过去几周出现。

胜科海事的差劲表现主要是受到油价大幅滑落影响。此外，市场也忧虑其新钻油船所面对的相关风险。

两周前有消息指出，一艘重型升降船只(Black Marlin)准备运送胜科海事的第一艘钻油船(The Arpoador)。公司也证实，新船只已经离开新加坡前往巴西，并重申钻油船将可以按原定计划完工，尽管它延迟了6个月离开新加坡船坞。

市场因此比较放心，因为其新船只面对的执行风险一直令人担忧。公司面对的风险大大减少，由于船只约70%的组成部分是在新加坡建构。

船只的余下部分将会在巴西的新船坞完成。投资者之前的顾虑是新船坞的经验不足。

看来都是受油价的影响吧，巴西新船那边什么情况一段时间没跟进了，跌太多没去理了

哭断肠了，今天插水到1.825了，阴功咯😵什么理由：是不是巴西佬迟迟不肯付钱，还是被女神的老公bent掉contract啊？哎哟喂，这里有谁要当烈士帮忙进场托市啊。买个10K units才18250大银，每年发派的股息有大约5.5%的回报率，赢过银行利息哦。

新加坡胜科钻油台再延后移交

（新加坡7日讯）胜科海事（Sembcorp Marine）表示，子公司裕廊船厂（Jurong Shipyard）为客户建造的一艘半潜式鉆油台再度延后移交，双方已同意将有关“暂停协议”（standstill agreement）期限从昨天延长至明年1月6日。

裕廊船厂前年12月与北大西洋鉆井公司（North Atlantic Drilling）达致暂停协议。按照当时协议，如果半年内该鉆油台还未争取到鉆井合约或找到新买主，该鉆油台将转为主要由裕廊船厂拥有，并继续另寻新买主。该协议此后一再延期。
