Appointment of Interim Chairperson and Interim Chief Executive Officer
Update on Investigations into Audit Issues
The Board of Directors wishes to announce that a fire broke out in the early hours of the morning on
20 April 2011 at a part of the Company’s office and administrative premises of our production facility
in Longkou City, Shandong Province PRC.
The fire outbreak did not cause any injury or death to any of the Company’s staff as none were
present in or near the office at the time of the fire outbreak. However, the Company’s books and
financial records which were kept in the affected office premise were destroyed by the fire, in
addition to some physical damage to affected office premise. The actual extent of the damage is still
being ascertained by the Company and further disclosures will be made in this regard when the
relevant information is available. |

Results within expectations
1Q11 results came in within expectations on improving utilisation and higher average selling prices, which helped to lift gross profit margin. Reported net profit surged 61% to RMB18m (1Q10: RMB11m) on the back of 56% increase in revenue and 5ppt GPM expansion to 26%. Cash balance improved to RMB506m (Dec 10: RMB494m), although prepayment to suppliers remained high at RMB174m (Dec 10: RMB186m) in a move to secure stable supply at competitive prices. As anticipated, share price has weakened by 15% since our 4Q10 update due to concerns over higher working capital and the company’s decision to reduce its dividend payout ratio to not less than 25% of its FY11 profit (FY10: 47%) for post-acquisition needs. However, after recent correction, we see attractive risk-reward trade-off as share price currently trades at 5.3x FY11F P/E, or below -1SD to its historical mean of 9x, and offers dividend yields of 5%. With 60% projected net profit growth to RMB117m in FY11, we maintain BUY at TP of S$0.255, pegged to 9x FY11F P/E. 58% zipper-related revenue growth. Fuxing’s revenue grew 56% YoY to RMB168m as its core zipper revenue surged 58% to RMB140m. Zipper segment benefited from an improving utilisation across its three processes i.e. finished zipper 52%, chain 70% and slider 71% (1Q10A: 38%-50%-37% respectively). In addition, ASP is likely to have increased by 2%. 5ppt GPM expansion. Better utilisation and ASP helped Fuxing’s GPM to expand 5ppt to 26%. Zipper GPM improved to 31% (1Q10: 26%). M&A update. Following the appointment of Fuxing’s nominees to the board at each of the three target companies as at 1 Apr 11, the company looks to consolidate their financials within the next two months. |
