Segmental Results of Naim FY2010
The audited results of Naim showed a 15% increase in EPS from 35.85 sen in FY2009 to 41.25 sen in FY2010.   Naim has two major business segments - Construction and Property Development, and the company has a 36% interest in Dayang Enterprise which is in the O&G sector.

Looking at the segment results of FY2010, PBT increased by RM23.6m or 53% to RM67.785m in the Property segment as compared to RM44.182m in FY2009, on the back of  slight decline in year on year revenue of 4%.    The Construction segment performed badly with 23% or RM12.7m decline in PBT despite an increase of 20% in revenue from RM348m in FY2009 to RM419m in FY2010. The O&G Associate company Dayang had contributed to an increased share of profits of RM8.26m (51%) from RM16.12 in FY2009 to RM24.38m in FY2010.

At a closing market price of RM2.80 as at 29/4/11, the stock was trading at a very low PE of 6.8x earnings. Apparently the stock is not an attractive trading stock, thus a low valuation given by the market participants.  I would think that the PER is too low, and I am setting a PER of 10x (12x in the previous fundamental analysis), and by maintaining the EPS of 42.15 sen, the fair value of the stock should be RM4.22.   Therefore, Naim is considered very much undervalued, but this is the current perceptions of market participants, especially the retail investors.
