废金属业务渐没落 SMPC冀转攻高档钢材

（乔治市17日讯）SMPC机构有限公司（SMPC，7099，工业产品组）将走了传统制造与贸易废金属业务，转型至高档钢铁产品，以提升其截至2016年3月31日止现财政年的收益表现。

其执行主席黄振声（译音）表示，改变集团焦点的策略性决定，是基于再循环废金属贸易的疲软销售价格。

“我们相信废金属业务已经成为一项夕阳行业。反之，高档钢铁产品提供更佳的利润。虽然我们可能因为环球钢铁价格波动而无法控制我们的收益，但我们可控制我们的成本。”

“我不认为策略转移将带来收益的大跃进，但我可说，拜上述高档钢铁产品的贡献所赐，2016财政年的表现将比15财政年改善。”

这些高档产品将用于服务石油与天然气工业，以及零售与商业领域。

“举例来说，我们目前供应高档金属产品予石油与天然气工业的钻井活动，以及马来西亚特易购与迈丁霸级市场的金属屋顶。”

受疲软环球钢铁价格冲击，SMPC机构截至2015年6月30日止首财季的净盈利滑落37.8%至72万令吉，比较一年前达116万令吉。而收益则从之前同期的3470万令吉减少23.1%至2667万令吉。

消费税的实行也影响了该集团的表现。

出口钢制家具

SMPC机构也制造钢制家具，及计划利用现有趋弱令吉兑美元汇价，从家具的出口市场受惠。

黄振声指出：“之前，我们家具业务的目标市场是本地市场，因钢制家具的出口市场由中国支配。但鉴于中国经济放缓和令吉疲软，我们已决定出口我们的家具到印度和欧洲等市场。”

他说，该集团计划制造聚对苯二甲酸（PET），后者是用于制造水瓶和衣物纤维的热塑性聚合物。

“我们计划投资在PET业务，因它带来更高的利润。我们已为这项投资鉴定一名商业伙伴。有关这项发展的细节很快会作出宣布。”

除了其核心钢铁业务，该集团早前计划发展其于吉打的27.9英亩（11.29公顷）地段。不过，基于软弱产业市场环境，这项计划现在已宣告搁置。

“我们并没有撤消我们的产业发展计划。我们首先将观察我国的经济状况。如果可行，我们将开始发展我们的地库，或探讨为我们的产业发展活动物色一个发展伙伴。与此同时，我们也放眼收购更多地库。”

目前，该集团的地库总面积约为75英亩，主要位于槟城、吉打、莎阿南和吉隆坡。

拟易为Atta环球

于2012年加入SMPC机构董事部成为执行董事，并于去年11月受委为主席的黄振声透露，该集团已建议易名为Atta环球集团有限公司。

“我们决定换名为Atta环球，是因为SMPC机构这个名称过去的信用可靠评级不理想。不过，现在已经作出改变，我们已大幅削减我们的债务，并有意维持Atta环球为零负债。”

该集团过去4年已经积极削减借贷以重组大部分债务，从2011财政年的9861万令吉降至2015财政年的1399万令吉。【光华日报财经】
