ACCA AND UTAR RENEW PACT

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the UTAR Petaling Jaya Campus today.

Representing UTAR was its President Ir Prof Academician Dato' Dr Chuah Hean Teik, while head of ACCA Malaysia Ms Jennifer Lopez signed on behalf of ACCA, the global body for professional accountants.

Today's signing renews a pact that was first made by both parties in 2006. Under this latest MoU, UTAR will continue to ensure that the syllabi of its four-year Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) programme as well as its three-year Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Accounting offered at their Bandar Sungai Campus and Perak Campus respectively, are aligned with the requirements of the ACCA Qualification.

With this, students studying for the Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) programme will be granted conditional exemption by ACCA for nine papers in the Fundamental Level of ACCA examinations, which enable them to pursue the ACCA Qualification in their fourth year of study concurrently with their degree. This exemption of nine papers is also granted to graduates of UTAR's Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Accounting programme, where upon they can register directly for the Professional Level papers of the ACCA Qualification.

Currently, UTAR's Centre for Extension Education (CEE) is offering a part-time programme to provide quality tuition to UTAR Accounting graduates and public members to prepare for the ACCA Professional Level exams. In addition, ACCA Malaysia also awards RM10,000 worth of scholarships each year to eligible UTAR students to study for the ACCA Professional Level papers at the centre.

ACCA's support is extended not only to the students but also to the lecturers and staff of the university. This comes in the form of continuous professional development programmes, train-the-trainers workshops for lecturers, as well as connecting them to ACCA's educators' network.

在这次MOU，UTAR 4年的Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) 和 3年Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Accounting 能exempt ACCA 9张Fundamental Papers。

除此之外，读4年的Bachelor of Accounting (Hons)的学生能在第四年考ACCA。

和KDU的不同，KDU是3年的课程能一边报考ACCA，UTAR则是4年的课程能一边报考ACCA。

其实真的是看个人咯，如果一早就决定要走会计这条路， 就从f.i.a 上ACCA.基础会稳些,after f.9 也可以考Oxford Brooke University. Bachelor of Science(hons) Applied Accounting , 比较快。

要保险，且快，那就KDU Bachelor of Business(hons)-Accounting
还可以副修其他major/minor (economics/finance/management)等等。

两者都能在KDU 完成咯

Bachelor of business(hons) accounting
是的。基本上你的year 3 的 subject 也都会是 ACCA professional papers + internship + dissertation & research methodology.

如果想要有minor/ 2nd major 的话， 记得在year 1 & year 2 的时候，overload subjects. 不然的话可能要Extend 1-2 semester. 1 年 3个semester.

其实只要考到cpa aus 就可以申请full exemption for CIMA ..

那么bachelor of accounting与bachelor of commerce (accounting)的差别在哪里？后者算不算是合格的会计师？

要成为 chartered accountant(ca)需要　professional qualification (acca/cpa aus/ cima/icaew)等等 外加3年会计相关工作(马来西亚 m.i.a.)（记得Check一下如果请的工作不再会计楼而是commercial firm)

你说的我知道。我想问的是，bachelor of accounting与bachelor of commerce (accounting)的差别在哪里？如果后者也能成为专业会计师，那么为什么要多花一年的时间去念bachelor of accounting？

这个是因为两者offer 在不同的campus lol.

Bachelor of accounting 就是纯粹accounting major 而已
Bachelor of commerce (accounting) 你能选择2nd major.minor 咯

如果是那样，学生们应该比较倾向于拿后者吧？毕竟只需要念三年而已。

如果是utar bachelor of commerce(accounting)的话， 你还是需要1年来完成剩下的 5张 acca professional papers （max 4 papers for 1 sitting)

要快的话那就KDU lol bachelor of business(hons)-accounting -3年完成Degree +acca

我不是会计系的，所以很好奇。那么如果拿的是你们utar的bachelor of accounting，需不需要1年来完成剩下的 5张 acca professional papers （max 4 papers for 1 sitting)？

你degree 的第4年是拿来完成Acca professional paper

utar 提供的两个学位都需4年， unitar 的也是如此。

目前本地学位只有KDU 的能在3年完成

除了B.Acc./B.Comm. (Acc)，還有B.Bus. (Acc)/B.Sc. (Acc & Fin)/B.A. (Acc & Fin)，內容都大同小異呱……。

但是为什么一个要念四年，另外一个只需要念三年？那么前者不是很吃亏？

那就要分析下他們的課程大綱了，以及是不是有包括畢業同時獲得什麼專業會計師資格？
