Memstar Pte Ltd specializes in the development, manufacture and application of PVDF hollow fiber membrane and membrane products for water and wastewater treatment as well as pretreatments for desalination and other RO processes. Although the company was established early 2005 by Dr Hailin Ge in Singapore, its history of membrane material research can be traced back to early 1990’ when Dr Ge and his group initiated researches into conducting polymers and membrane materials in Singapore Institute of Standards & Industrial Research (SISIR). Many years of such research accumulation laid a solid technological foundation for Memstar and enabled the young company growing so rapidly.

Memstar’s membrane products are used for industrial and household/commercial
applications. The industrial membrane products include both submerged and pressurized modules while the household/commercial membrane products include POE (Point of Entry) and POU (Point of Use) water treatment and purification equipment. Memstar industrial membrane modules have been widely used in membrane bioreactors (MBR) and continuous membrane filtration (CMF) systems for various applications as outlined below:

•  Treatment of various industrial wastewater (MBR)
•  Treatment of municipal wastewater (MBR)
•  Production of portable water from surface and ground water (CMF)
•  Pretreatment for seawater desalination (CMF)
•  Pretreatment for production of industrial pure water (CMF)
•  Reuse of treated wastewater from the secondary clarifiers (CMF)


With its R&D strength and advanced manufacturing facilities, Memstar has become one of the few leading manufacturers of high performance PVDF hollow fiber membranes in the world. The headquarters, fiber manufacturing and R&D centre of Memstar are located in Singapore and its membrane post treatment and potting facilities are located in China (Please refer to photos below). With its manufacturing facilities in in Singapore, Mianyang and Guangzhou, Memstar has a total designed production capacity of 5 million m2 annually. Memstar so far has established sales / customer service offices in China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan and USA. Its membrane products have been sold to China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, Canada, USA, Columbia, Spain, Germany and etc.
