注释：

█1. at times意为“有时，偶尔”，类似的还有from time to time。

You use at times to say that something happens or is true on some occasions or at some moments.
If you do something from time to time, you do it occasionally but not regularly.

我们用at times表示某事偶尔会发生，用from time to time表示偶尔会做某事。

2. 我们以前讲过几个和time有关的易混词组，at times，at a time，at one time和at the time。大家还记得如何区分吗？

at times指“有时，不时”，如“She is annoying at times.”，她有时候很烦人；
at a time作“一次，每次”讲时常用于“数词+at a time”结构中，比如“Take two pills at a time.”，一次吃两颗药；
at one time指“一度，曾经”；
at the time则指“那时”，比如“She was still with him at the time.”，那时他们还在一起。

1. A cat nap
解释：白天打个小盹
例子： I always have a cat nap after lunch.
            我总在午饭后打个小盹。

2. A fat cat
解释： 非常有钱有势的人
例子: Too many fat cats have made money out of the recession.
             太多有钱有势的人在大萧条中挣到了钱。

3. A scaredy-cat
解释：胆小鬼
例子：It's only a little spider. Don't be such a scaredy-cat.
            那只是一只小蜘蛛，别这么胆小鬼。

4.The cat's whiskers

解释：比别人都强

例子：She thought she was the cat's whiskers when she got the part in the play.

            当她获得演出角色时，她觉得自己是最棒的。

5.To let the cat out of the bag
解释：揭秘
例子：Everybody knows about the redundancies. Someone let the cat out of the bag.
            每个人都知道裁员的事了。有人走漏了风声。

6.To look like the cat that got the cream
解释：看上去对某事沾沾自喜
例子：I guess you passed your exam. You look like the cat that got the cream.
            我猜你考试及格了。你看上去很开心。

7. It's raining cats and dogs.
解释：瓢泼大雨
注释：相比这个用语，现在日常比较多用的简单说法是it's pouring.

解释：冗长杂乱的滑稽故事（文艺版翻译）；又臭又长的故事（小编版翻译）
例子：The way he kept going on led me to suspect it was a shaggy dog story.

解释： 非常高兴
例子:
When we won the game,our team leader was like a dog with two tails.

8. dog-eat-dog
解释：形容竞争激烈的情况；狗咬狗人吃人。

例子：

In show business it's dog-eat-dog. One day you are a star, the next you've been replaced by younger talent.
演艺行业是一个人吃人的地方。今天你是明星，明天你就会被更年轻的才华者取而代之。
