Liverpool Livid With FA After Another Injury SetbackLiverpool Football Club are reportedly incensed over the Football Association's management of Jordan Rossiter after the young midfielder came back to the club from international duty with a hamstring injury, as reported by Liverpool Echo.
Rossiter is gazing at a spell on the sidelines after featuring for England Under-19s for full 90 minutes thrice in a span of mere five days under taxing conditions.
The young starlet helped England Under-19s to a 2-0 win over hosts Macedonia last Thursday before appearing in their 1-0 victory over Finland on Saturday. Rossiter was also involved in Tuesday’s goalless draw from start to finish against Italy as England secured top spot in their group and qualified for the group phase of Euro 2016.
The 18-year-old academy graduate was the only outfield player to have been involved up to that extent over the international break for the team and the Reds are fairly certain that the injury is a result of over-playing the youngster by manager Aidy Boothroyd for the final rounds of Euro 2016 qualifying.
Liverpool are yet to find out the extent of the damage caused to his hamstring but he is evidently ruled out of the clash against Tottenham this Saturday as Jurgen Klopp prepares to preside over his first game as a Premier League manager.
And the latest injury setback must have come as a hammer blow for Klopp as he alluded to the fact of placing his faith in youngsters, especially after the club recently had to contend with the horrendous fact ruling out both Danny Ings and Joe Gomez for the rest of the season after they both succumbed to cruciate ligament ruptures this past week.
England initially stated that Gomez had sustained a minor injury before the club's medical team determined the exact degree of injury which prompted Jurgen Klopp to admit that it was 'not the best' piece of information provided by the FA.
Ties between Liverpool and the FA haven't been cordial ever since it was reported last year that Daniel Sturridge sustained a thigh injury after being pushed too much by England gaffer Roy Hodgson during a training routine with the senior squad. And the latest episode has done no good in ameliorating the relations between the two.
With so many of his senior players injured and recuperating in the medical room, Jurgen Klopp faces a dilemma in terms of team selection before his first match in-charge of the Kopites and may have to rework his strategy and plans for the game as he looks to get off the mark in the Premier League with a win at White Hart Lane against Tottenham.
