March 27 is dedicated to one of the most successful female artists of all time...
Mariah Carey has been a phenomenon ever since launching her self-titled smash debut in 1990.

Throughout the 90s, her glossy mixture of ballads and Hip-Hop inspired pop, notched up a record 17 US number 1 singles, making her the most successful female vocalist of the decade. Plus she's gorgeous.

It would be easy to say that things had always been easy for Mimi, but a very public breakdown in 2001, followed by a poorly received film appearance and associated album, lead to her being dropped from her label.

Then, in 2005, when the 90s were becoming a retro nightmare, she returned with a bang and The Emancipation of Mimi. A Grammy followed and the album became the biggest seller of the year.

Rumours are circulating about a new studio album one the way, and while she's even getting decent reviews for her acting, we can't help but wonder whether the survivor from Long Island has a long life in her yet…

Collaborations are old hat for country legend Willie Nelson. In his 40-year career, he's teamed up with everyone from Julio Iglesias to Toby Keith to fellow living legends Ray Price and Merle Haggard (the trio's album, Last of the Breed, is out today). He's even crossed into the pop realm by joining Jessica Simpson for a remake of "These Boots Are Made for Walkin" a couple years back. But one name we never thought we'd see next to Willie's? The King's market acquisition tactics are far from lax. He's working on other peoples' records, and he's got a slew of film projects in the works, too. On the music front, he's been helping BG out with his new record. He's been juicing up his producer game, making beats for artists like Mariah Carey, Cassidy, Rick Ross, Young Joc and Young Dro. "Whether they use the beats or not is up to them," he said.

Songwriter and record producer Bryan Michael Cox wrote the following blog on his MySpace page on Thursday, April 26th. It hints about a possible collaboration with Mariah Carey who is currently recording her album in Anguilla.

So, I move around so much that I don't even know where I live anymore. LOL! Then I get a phone call from one of the biggest female recording artists ever to come way to Anguilla and do some writing for her upcoming LP. Of course I came out here. And of course I can't tell you who she is until the album comes out but nonetheless, my phones don't work and I can't recieve any emails via my blackberry (excuse me, I mean "CRACKBERRY"!) However, God has a way of making a person get some rest whether or not they plan it or not! I came out here thinking that we were going to be working all day and all night, turns out we have only been working at nights. Plus I had a night off! So I have been getting my proper rest on! My mother stays on my bumpers about getting rest. Well, Mrs. Pamela Cox-Stagg would be proud to know that I have been doing just that. This place is so beautiful and because I came out here by myself, I have been able to really put a few things into perspective about my life and not JUST my life but life in general. Although I realize that I probably am a work-a-holic (because I enjoy every second of it), I am starting to see that you must take care of yourself physically, personally, and spiritually. You have to take some time to yourself to build those personal relationships properly. Everything can't be about work, work, work. We are built spiritually. We have souls. We have to feed our souls. This is where my creativity is deeply rooted in. My soul. I understand now why romantic relationships are so important to person's psyche. I used to think I knew what romance was. I was dead ass wrong! LOL. I was dead ass wrong about a lot of things but that is what this trip was really about. It was an awakening of sorts. An awakening of a person I knew long before I was making records and working so desperatly to support myself and my family. Sure, I got a lot of work done. We wrote 4 songs. 4 SMASHES! But I was able to take care of my soul for once...


Bryan Michael and Mariah collaborated in the past co-writing and producing hit songs such as "Don't Forget About Us," "Get Your Number," "Shake It Off," "The One," "I Miss You," "How Much," and "All I Want For Christmas (Remix)."

JD日前在接受MTV访问的时候透露到，Nelly正计划写一首歌曲，由他与Mariah和Janet合唱。
Janet负责Rap的部份，Mariah则负责唱的部份。采访内容如下：

Jermaine Dupri is in the studio trying to make even more hits - with everybody. He's producing an all-ballad album for Jagged Edge, then you have Usher, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson and one of his best friends, Nelly.

"Nelly's got a crazy collaboration he's trying to put together, which is him, Janet and Mariah Carey all on one song," JD said. "That's what he wants. If he could convince them to do it, it would be crazy. He wants Janet to rap a 16-bar verse, he wants Mariah to sing the hook and he's gonna do two verses. He has it all planned out. You ask him about it! This is what he wants; he's 100-percent deadlocked into it. And I think he's doing a record with Bruce Springsteen. You know he always has to do one of those! My two records [that J.D. has produced for Nelly so far], he's gonna have some people on them - I won't tell it yet. I don't want to jinx the record.

Mariah Carey and Jon Bon Jovi will join in celebrating the VH1 Save The Music Foundation's 10th Anniversary Gala on September 20th at Lincoln Center in New York City. Jon Bon Jovi will perform as part of a special tribute to VH1 Save The Music founder John Sykes during a ceremony that will also honor Mariah Carey for her unyielding support of the Foundation's mission.

"I am thrilled to have Jon Bon Jovi and Mariah Carey share in the celebration of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation's 10th anniversary," says Paul Cothran, Executive Director of the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. "It would be hard to look back on the past ten years and recount each of our triumphs and successes without recalling individuals such as these two artists that have donated so much of their time and efforts to restoring music education programs across the country."

During the elaborate 10th anniversary celebration, the VH1 Save The Music Foundation will honor Mariah Carey for her outstanding dedication to the organization over the years. Since 1998, Mariah Carey has been instrumental in helping the VH1 Save The Music Foundation achieve their goals by volunteering her time and efforts in various ways. Mariah has performed at several benefit shows including the very first "VH1 Divas" in 1998 and has been active in raising public awareness about the benefits of music education during events such as NBC's "VH1 Save The Music Today! Week." In 2006, Mariah donated the Escada dress she wore in her Intel Centrino Duo commercial, which later sold at auction to benefit The Foundation.

Tim Gunn of Project Runway will also be on hand to emcee a live auction, which will feature one-of-a-kind items and experiences from VH1 Save The Music partners. The video which will be shot in the coming days in NYC will be directed by Chris Robinson who last directed Mariah in the video for the smash hit I Know What You Want with Busta Rhymes.

Kanye West celebrated his 30th birthday in style Thursday night with a huge bash at the Louis Vuitton store in New York that brought out a bevy of big-time guests including Jay-Z, Diddy and Mariah Carey — who all holed up by the first floor entrance with the birthday boy — as well as Common, Rihanna, Fall Out Boy, Ashlee Simpson, Travis Barker, Fabolous, Ashanti and Jermaine Dupri (after his early morning car accident).
