The Group’s turnover decreased by17.2% to RM71.4 million compared to the corresponding quarter last year due toa combination of reduced volume of aluminium extrusions sold and lower averageselling prices owing to falling raw material costs. For the quarter underreview, the Group registered a loss before taxation of RM2.1 million dueprimarily to the provision for diminution in value of investment in associatedcompany of RM2.5 million. If not for the said provision, the Group would have reporteda profit before taxation of RM0.4 million. The lower profit was due to the unprecedentedsharp drop in aluminium prices during the quarter under review which resultedin the Group having to sell its existing inventories at lower prices thussubstantially reducing profit margins.

（吉隆坡20日訊）廖兄弟制鋁（LBALUM，9326，主板工業產品組）宣佈其擁有40%股權的聯號公司CallTime科技私人有限公司（CTSB）進行削資和資本回退行動，該公司從中收到952萬令吉的資本回退。

廖兄弟制鋁在文告中指出，該公司在CTSB的投資因此從1千120萬令吉削減至169萬令吉，但股權保持為40%。（星洲互動）

廖兄弟製鋁次季淨利揚80%

（吉隆坡11日訊）受惠於產品銷售及賺幅走高，廖兄弟製鋁（LBALUM，9326，主板工業產品組）截至2013年10月31日止，第二季淨利激增79.7%至570萬令吉。

首半年淨利也大起81.79%至1千102萬2千令吉。

次季營業額則起11.25%至1億零595萬8千令吉，並帶動首半年營業額挺升9.87%至2億1千306萬8千令吉。

廖兄弟製鋁發文告指出，產品平均銷售價走高，促使業務賺幅改善。

不過，外圍的匯率波動和金融市場脆弱，國內由於政府財政改革措施，諸如減津、打房、電費漲價和後年落實的消費稅等，可能對經濟活動造成影響，該公司仍對未來策略及計劃感到謹慎，惟相信未來季度持續有利可圖。（星洲日報／財經）

（吉隆坡21日讯）由于应收款项的减值亏损幅度减少，廖兄弟制铝厂（LBALUM，9326，主板工业产品股）截至今年1月底的现财年第三季，净利达488万1000令吉，按年增长0.16%，上财年为487万3000令吉。

无论如何，因生意量下滑加上产品平均销售价格更低，营业额仅达9661万8000令吉，较上财年的9930万8000令吉，跌2.71%。

累积首三季，其净利大涨45.5%至1590万3000令吉；营业额则微扬5.6%至3亿968万6000令吉。

同时，该公司指出，随着外围和内需情况改善，展望乐观。尽管目前制造成本趋扬，该公司极力提升效率和生产力。

虽然，最近电费上调或冲击制造领域，但有信心维持公司表现。
