How old are you? But 188bpm still a very high heart rate. You may need to slow down and drop your heart rate to 140bpm or below. Mine previously was high but not that high... If you really want to train for low heart rate, you need to ignore you speed and cadence. Just target your heart rate at 140bpm and ride at that speed on flat road. Only when come to climb, allow your heart rate to raise to 170bpm... Base training require time. You can not rush and cut corner. Go slow on road at ... ...

my max heart rate is 188,every time i ride about speed 20-24km/hr in about 30km distance my HR will reach 85-90%..
my question:
1) it is 85-90% is too high for me or depend on different people?
2) is there a way to train low HR?
